Custom domains for website and page builders

Publish ends on your customer's own domain. CustomDomain™ finds their DNS provider and writes or shows the records.

For founders, onboarding product managers and platform engineers at site builders such as Wix, Squarespace and Jimdo.

Where site builders connect domains

Each job with its records, its fit and the docs page behind it.

Small-business site builders

A local business publishes its first site and connects its domain. CustomDomain™ recognizes parking and forwarding records left at the registrar, picks the root record per provider and flags conflicts before writing.

Designer site builders

Publishing to the client's domain is the moment that counts. The live check flags extra A records, AAAA conflicts and proxied records, and hourly drift checks catch later changes.

Design tools that publish sites

Design tools now publish live sites. The pre-flight names conflicting records, AAAA and CAA before anything is written, and a TXT record the tool supplies rides the same connection.

One-page and personal sites

Single-page sites for individuals. When the builder assigns records per site, it supplies them to the connection and each one is checked live.

Sites built from workspace pages

Wrappers that publish workspace pages as sites. Parking records left at the registrar are recognized, and the root is handled per provider.

Published notes and wikis

Notes and handbooks published as sites, usually on a subdomain. One CNAME, with proxied records flagged by the live check.

Directory and listing sites

Niche publishers launch a paid directory on their own domain. A pending connection never times out, it is rechecked, and each status change reaches your app by webhook.

Digital publications and flipbooks

Catalogs and magazines on catalog.acme.com. A self-serve subdomain CNAME replaces the support ticket.

Portfolio builders

Designer and photographer portfolios on the creator's own domain. On Growth and up the certificate is issued on the first HTTPS request, and a failing renewal is retried while the current one serves.

Client galleries and proofing

Galleries delivered to clients on clients.acme.com. One subdomain CNAME, with proxied records detected before the certificate fails.

Website translation proxies

Translated copies of a site on language subdomains such as es.acme.com. Each subdomain is its own connection, and the API creates them in bulk.

No-code apps and portals

Apps built on databases and visual builders, live on the brand's domain.

No-code web app builders

Visual app builders whose customers launch on their own domain. The CAA advisory adds the Let's Encrypt record instead of deleting the customer's own, and proxied records are flagged.

Database-to-portal builders

Client and staff portals over a database. The root gets the provider's ALIAS-style record where one exists, or A records.

Common questions

What happens if a registrar parked the domain?

The check recognizes common parking and forwarding records, and the provider steps say what to delete first so the new root record can take over.

Do my customers need to change nameservers?

No. CustomDomain™ writes or shows records at the customer's current DNS provider, so their mail and other records stay where they are.

Who serves HTTPS on the published site?

On Growth and up, the CustomDomain™ edge issues the certificate on the first HTTPS request and renews it. On Starter and Startup, domains point at your own servers and you serve TLS.

Wix, Squarespace, Jimdo, Cloudflare and other names on this page are trademarks of their owners. CustomDomain™ is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Facts about other products were read from their public pages on October 30, 2026.
