Registrar & DNS Integrations Engineer
Owns every DNS provider adapter and registrar integration
Apply for this role Applied before? Sign in to track your applications →This is the domains role. The product connects any domain on any provider, and that only works because someone owns the 25 plus DNS provider adapters and the registrar integrations behind them. You will be that person. You will write and maintain the adapters that read and write records across providers, build the provider OAuth and provider-hosted one-click setup rails that let an end-user approve records without leaving the flow, and own domain search, buy, and transfer through registrar APIs. When a provider changes an API or an apex behaves oddly, this is your problem to solve.
What you will do
- Build and maintain the DNS provider adapters that detect a domain's provider and write the correct records across more than 25 integrations.
- Own the provider OAuth flows and the provider-hosted one-click setup rails so an end-user can approve records in place instead of copying values by hand.
- Integrate registrar APIs for domain search, purchase, and transfer, and keep those flows honest about pricing and availability.
- Handle the hard cases: apex domains, CNAME flattening, ALIAS and ANAME records, TTLs, and the quirks each provider ships.
- Track propagation and verification so the product knows a record is really live, not just submitted, and reflect that truthfully in the widget and API.
What we are looking for
- You have built integrations against many third-party APIs and you are patient with their inconsistencies, undocumented behavior, and rate limits.
- You know DNS record types cold and understand why apex handling and propagation are the parts that break.
- You are comfortable in Go and TypeScript, and you can build an OAuth flow that is secure and does not annoy the user.
- You test against real provider behavior, not just the happy path, because these adapters run in production for every customer.
Bonus
- You have worked with registrar APIs for domain search, registration, or transfer.
- You have shipped provider-hosted one-click DNS setup or similar record-approval flows.
- You have maintained adapters against a large set of providers and have a system for keeping them from rotting.
